One system, one library: Library services update

The new, integrated library catalog and services is scheduled to go-live on May 20th, following the end of the spring semester. The new software will link UW-Madison’s catalog more closely with the other UW system libraries, truly creating one library for the system.  It will be easier and more efficient to browse, search, and request items from other UW campuses.

InterLibrary loan account information will be available in a separate ILL account, and will no longer be linked to your Library profile or MyMadCat account. There may be some temporary changes in service during the transition.

The UBorrow service has been disabled until the catalog officially goes live. This means that you will need to request books from other UW system schools through InterLibrary loan instead of through the Catalog. No new items will be added to the Catalog until the go-live and requesting items from UW (using the “sign in to place request” feature) will also be placed on hold after May 6th and until May 20th.

A timeline of events, as well as current news on the transition to the new system, can be found on the FAQ for the 2015 Library Services Transition developed by the UW Libraries staff.
