As we begin another semester, the Schwerdtfeger Library
would like to remind all atmospheric and oceanic science students of some
library resources:
- Schwerdtfeger Library hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.
- Course reserves: Reserves for AOS classes can be found at the Schwerdtfeger Library, Room 317 in the Space Science and Engineering Center. Books on reserve may be checked out for two hours at a time.
- Reference, research guides, and tutorials:
- Our library offers reference assistance to help you with your research papers, presentations, projects, etc.
- Helpful research guides for atmospheric, oceanic, and climate sciences and climate data sources can be found at: http://researchguides.library.wisc.edu/c.php?g=177688 and http://researchguides.library.wisc.edu/c.php?g=178052.
- We have compiled a video series guiding users through the steps of a literature review. It is a great resource for students who are unable to visit the library during our open hours. The tutorials can be found on the Schwerdtfeger Library’s website under “Research Guides”: http://library.ssec.wisc.edu/research_Resources/atmospheric_Resources/research_Guides
- Wendt Library: Wendt Library will be reducing its hours, study space, and staffing this semester. Starting February 1st, only the first floor of the building will be open, housing the library collection, library services, and study areas. Wendt study rooms can no longer be reserved through the library website, and must now be reserved through the College of Engineering at http://engr.ems.wisc.edu/. Building hours are as follows:
- Monday-Thursday: 9am-11pm
- Friday: 9am-5pm
- Saturday-Sunday: closed
Please note that library
collections may only be checked out from Wendt from 9am to 5pm Monday through
Friday.
