Campus Office Delivery for UW-Madison Staff

Beginning June 1, university faculty and staff can elect to have library materials sent to their office mailboxes via a campus office delivery program.

As you consider using this service, please be aware that:
  • The item may take a week or more to arrive via inter-departmental mail.
  • By agreeing to use this service, you are accepting responsibility for the item from the time it is checked out of the library until it is checked back in; that is, you are responsible for it during its transit time. You will be fined for any items that are lost in the mail.
  • The time that elapses during delivery to and from your office mailbox is part of your loan period—something to keep in mind especially for interlibrary loan materials that may have a 28-day loan period and sometimes may not be renewed.
  • Items must be returned to a campus library desk or book drop. You cannot return library materials through inter-departmental mail.

Keep in mind that if you are interested in checking out materials from the Schwerdtfeger Library, it will be faster to visit the library in person to check out the item rather than waiting for it to be delivered to your office mailbox.  Items from other libraries can still be delivered directly to the Schwerdtfeger Library for pickup if you prefer not to use the campus office delivery service, and we will hold them until you pick them up.

To use this new service, visit the library catalog and find the item you are interested in checking out.  Click on the “Place a Request” link under the “Physical Availability” heading.  Log in with your NetID, and then choose “Campus Office Delivery” from the Pickup Location drop down menu.  Check that the delivery address is correct, and then click on “Place a request.”
